GSU News....
* A new president has been appointed to lead Grambling State University. His name is Dr. Horace Judson. Dr. Judson will be in Chicago, IL to visit with the Windy City Chapter of Grambling University Alumni Association on October 12, 2004. Come out and say hello to the new president and get your questions answered directly from Dr. Judson.
* In March 2004, Doug Williams, Grambling State University Head Football Coach, announced that he was leaving GSU to accept a position with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Professional football team in the NFL). The assistant head football coach has replaced Doug Williams as the Head Football Coach at GSU.
* The Grambling University National Alumni Association, Incorporated (GUNAA) has finally launched its website. GUNAA is the governoring office for all satellite alumni offices of Grambling State University. The web address is: http://www.gunaa.org Check it out!
* The 2003 National Alumni Convention for Grambling State University will be held on July 24 - 27, 2003 in Baton Rouge, LA at the Radisson Hotel and Convention Center. The Charles P. Adams Alumni Chapter will be hosting the event. For additional information, call the National Alumni Office at: (318) 274 - 6264.
* Ms. Terri Coates has been selected as the new Assistant Director of The Office of Alumni Affairs at Grambling State University. Feel free to contact her at: (318) 274 - 6267.
* Board members of SACs met in December 2003 and arrived at a decision on the accreditation of Grambling State University (GSU). SACs elected to grant GSU full accreditation with SACs. Full accreditation with SACs endures for a period of 10 years.
* Construction of a new building is underway at GSU. The new facility will be called the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Building. The facility is being built near Robinson Stadium. The total cost for the project is $23 Million dollars and the size of the structure will be 134,573 square feet.
* The Grambling State University Marching Band will be featured in a film this coming fall. The film will be titled, "Drumline" and is scheduled for release by late fall 2002 by Twentieth Century Fox.
